Scientific Method

So I did some research on the scientific method and this is what I came up with...
The scientific method is a way to ask and answer scientific questions by doing an experiment and making observations.

Step 1
Ask a question.

Step 2
Do background research.

Step 3
Construct a hypothesis.

Step 4
Test with an experiment.

Step 5
Analyze results.

Step 6
Draw conclusion.
If the hypothesis is true, report the results.
If the hypothesis is false or partially true, go back to step 3.

So, now we just have to discuss the DNA example as a group.

  1. I was a little confused but I think the website Mr. Calos gave us said that DNA example really emphasized the fact that scientific method is using what people already know about DNA and than the scientific method makes it more updated and its kind of like using the question for the answer. Thats what I think, what do you guys think?

  3. All of the things about the scientific method sound really good. Definitely a much needed refresher. :) i was also really confused about the whole DNA sample thing, what website did Mr. Calos give us? DNA could obviously be used in the scientific method by having a question asked about it and then proceeding with the rest of the steps in the procedure.

  4. So are we trying to pick out a certain DNA sample?

  5. I was also a little bit confused as to where we were supposed to find information about the DNA sample but what you guys said seems pretty good. :D
